Each holiday season, The Salvation Army engages in the tradition of "staffing the kettles" to promote the plight of the needy in Linn County. This practice is critical to The Salvation Army's cause, as the money it raises supports the organization’s programs for the rest of the year. Thanks to the generosity of thousands of Linn County residents and businesses, The Salvation Army can continue to provide valuable programs such as our food pantry, rental assistance, utility assistance, disaster services, after school programs and character building programs for our youth.

During the holidays children receive gifts through The Christmas Toy Shop. Clothing, food and other items are donated to individuals and families and senior citizens receive gifts and visits. The Salvation Army of Linn County assists many needy families during the holiday season.
